Cooperative gymnastics team ranks 3rd in the United States

The HK/Morgan/Westbrook (HK/M/W) Cooperative Women’s Gymnastics Team finished in third place when the team competed in the Class M State Championship last weekend. The Cougars posted a team score of 132.70 to take third place among the eight teams that competed in the Class M meet at Jonathan Law High School on Feb. 26. Woodstock Academy finished in first place with 140.30 points.

HK junior Juliana Gagliardi earned a 9.175 on vault and a 9.0 on floor to highlight her performance in the United States. Gagliardi also finished with a score of 8.8 on beam and 8.3 on bars.

Morgan junior Megan Cafferty scored a 9.0 on vault in the state meet. She also posted an 8.75 on floor, 8.25 on beam and 7.0 on bars.

HK sophomore Rebecca Rosenblum-Jones finished with scores of 8.375 on vault, 8.3 on beam, 8.15 on bars and 8.0 on floor exercise. Westbrook sophomore Hannah Freund scored an 8.6 on floor, 8.25 on vault, 7.4 on beam and 7.35 on bars.

Prior to competing in the States, HK/M/W faced two teams in a triple meet at Flip-Flop Gymnastics in Deep River on February 21. The Cougars swept the competition posting a team score of 132.45 to defeat both Mercy (124.45) and Regional Valley (120.65).
