ORLANDO, Fla. — Since last November, Cirque Du Soleil at Disney Springs has presented nightly productions of its new show “Drawn to Life.”

With the United States Special Olympics in Orlando just a week away, the Cirque du Soleil team has invited some of the gymnasts from Team Florida to train on stage with the performers.

“It’s really nice to share this moment, and also what we’re doing,” said gymnast Ryota Asadome.

Five of the 10 performers took some time before practice to show four of Team Florida’s gymnasts parts of their routine on Center Stage, a place where many don’t get a chance to stand .

“The fact that I was one of the few lucky enough to be there, I can tell my friends that I got to play with some of those people,” the team gymnast said. of Florida Adrian Eusebio.

Cirque Du Soleil head coach Beau Sydes says he was impressed with how quickly the athletes got back to their routines.

“They’re some of the best at what they do,” Sydes said of the Florida team athletes. “To see how quickly they understand and how quickly they learn choreography, how easy it was for them to be on stage and find their blocking was amazing. It was great to see, really impressive.

The entire Florida team will take center stage next week at the USA Games, showing their hard work to the world.

The games opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando.
