Twins Fraser and Gadirova to spearhead UK gymnastics team at highly anticipated European Championships in Munich

Joe Fraser and the Gadirova twins will spearhead a ten-man British gymnastics team at this summer’s European Championships in Munich.

For the second edition in 2022, the innovative competition brings together the existing championships of the main sports of the continent in a single multi-sport event to create an unmissable experience that elevates the Champions of Europe.

The competition runs from August 11-21, with senior and junior athletes in action in the gymnastics competition.

Leading the senior women’s team are three stars from last year’s Olympics, with bronze medalists Jessica Gadirova and Jennifer Gadirova of Aylesbury and Alice Kinsella of Park Wrekin returning to major championship competition.

Rounding out the women’s roster are British all-around silver medalist Ondine Achampong, also from Aylesbury, and 2018 Commonwealth Games uneven bars gold medalist Georgia-Mae Fenton from South Essex.

Three of the Tokyo Games men’s team also return, with Birmingham City’s Fraser, Pegasus’ James Hall and Pegasus’ Giarnni Regini-Moran named.

They will be joined by exciting prospect Jake Jarman from Huntingdon and two-time European individual medalist Courtney Tulloch from South Essex.

The women’s junior team consists of Ruby Evans and Evie Flage-Donovan from Clwb Cymru Caerdydd, Abigail Martin from South Devon, Grace Davies from Robin Hood and Tiegan Trafford from Abingdon.

The selections for the junior men’s team are Rueben Ward from Manchester Academy, Danny Crouch from South Essex, Jack Stanley from Leeds, Oakley Banks from Pegasus and Gabriel Langton from City of Birmingham.

The European Championships enhance the prestige and profile of individual championships by bringing them together in a multi-sport event every four years.

The event inspires the next generation of young athletes through the power of sport, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

The European Multisport Championships Munich 2022, including athletics, beach volleyball, canoe sprint, cycling, gymnastics, table tennis, triathlon, rowing and sport climbing, will take place from 11 to August 21 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in the city of Germany. .
