YMCA Optional Gymnastics Team Ranks 3rd in Districts


The Tuscarawas YMCA Optional Gymnastics Team placed 3rd at the NEO YMCA District meet held at the Wayne County YMCA in Wooster on Saturday afternoon.

The top home scorer in the all-around was Amya Pica with 35.65 points or 40.

Caycee Albaugh became the floor champion placing first in her age group with a score of 9.375.

Other local gymnasts who scored 9.0 or higher in the individual events were Amya Pica on balance beam and floor; Avery Worst on beam and floor; Jaycie Baker on the floor and Landry Little on the floor.

Level 4 and 6 gymnasts from Tusc will wrap up their regular season next weekend at the YMCA Regional meet in North Canton.

They will join teams from Ashland, Cambridge, North Canton, Riverfront and Wooster to compete for regional crowns.

Amya Pica: 2nd bars, beam, all around; 3rd floor; 5th jump; Avery Worst: 3rd Beam; 4th floor; 5th in the general competition; 7th measures; 8th jump; Caycee Albaugh: 1st floor; 2nd vault; 3rd all around; 4th bars; 7th beam; Ayla Norman: 3rd Beam; 7th bars, all around; 8th floor; 11th vault; Jaycie Baker: 2nd floor; 5th jump; 8th beam, all around; 9th measures; Landry Little: 4th bars; 5th floor; 6th beam; 7th in the general competition; 11th vault.
